HAPPY BIRTHDAY LADIES

Usually I am unaware of celebrity birthdays until they have passed. Well this week was different. I happened to turn to KISS 98.7 FM for the midday jams (it's the only time I listen to commercial radio). All week they have been playing music from Aretha, Stephanie and Diana. Needless to say I was excited. I love them all. I can't pick a favorite out of the three because they each brought something different. Diana brought the super fabulousness and hair. Aretha has the big, beautiful voice that could make Chuck Norris cry (see what I did, lol). Stephanie, is just something else. Her voice is serious and it's always shocking because she is so petite. LOVES HER...Maybe I do have a favorite :).

***Memory: I grew up listening to WBLS and KISS (if you are not from NY, they are urban adult contemporary stations that play LOTS of oldschool). I don't remember how old I was, but I remember calling and actually getting through to speak to Lenny Green (swoon) and requesting Stephanie's "Feel The Fire." He asked how old I was (maybe I was 15) and he said "What do you know about feeling the fire?" I responded "I just know good music."***

Since I haven't blogged in a little while, I figured I would give them a shout and share the wealth of music.

You can also check out The Cocoa Luv Chronicles tonight from 7-8 on www.wbmbradio.com.

Funny thing is, when the new artists sample songs, the older versions are always better and plays in my head. O, so soulful.
That Ms. Mills can blow
