I Trust You

Over this week, I've been really reflective. As the days get shorter and time goes by faster, I think about what I've done or what needs to be done in my life. One thing that remains a constant in my thoughts is how short life is. I have to remind myself of this daily because at times I get stressed out when things don't work out in my favor but as I get older and more spiritual I understand that G*D would not give me more than I can handle.

The inspiration for this blog comes from a gospel song by James Fortune and Fiya. I only hear it on the radio during middays. When I hear a GOOD gospel song it brings a tear to my eye. This is for ALL the people that are struggling and find it hard to deal with everyday troubles. Just trust in the lord (or whoever/whatever you believe in).

Happy Mama's Day

A two for one: A Story and a Review

First, I just want to say that my mom is the BEST!!! She raised me right and is very well the funniest person that I know. Yes we have our issues but that's what happens when you are two VERY opinionated and strong willed women. I'm grateful to have her in my life and no matter what she's always been my rock. But here is one of the REAL reasons why she is the best.

On Sunday, I was knocked out, comatose and my phone rings. At first I looked at the phone and almost ignored it but then figured I'd answer because if I didn't, she would keep calling me back. I picked up the phone with my "special" just woke up and have no idea what day it is voice and said "Yea." She says "Well, I got the tickets for Beyonce." I said "What????" I practically rolled out the bed. I was ECSTATIC! The funny thing is, I might be a fan, but I have NEVER seen here perform LIVE. So when I found out that tickets for her MSG June 21-22 shows were going on sale soon, I immediately contacted all the folks that I knew that could possibly get me a hook up for the show. I almost opted not to go because her tickets were HIGH but then the best mommy in the world called with the BEST news ever. I can't stop cheesing...

So this brings me to the mother's day special review and special event for those women or men that want to take their mom's some place cool over the weekend.

This Saturday at the Carol's Daughter Heritage Store located at 1 South Elliot place, join the founder of Carol's Daughter, Lisa Price as she discusses her favorite things about mothers day and some special Mother's Day gifts.

One gift set that I absolutely love is the Pearl Gift Set. The scent is unlike the others in that its very smooth and subtle with rich blends of vanilla and caramel (my favs). The set includes a body creme as well as an eau de toilette . I already know that my mom likes it so this would be a good gift and make my job easy (she's HARD to shop for, I usually give her money lol - besides I already purchased her gift). I recommend this to you because it won't disappoint. The fragrance isn't too heavy which is why I like it. I am more of a body spray - light fragrance girl. The best thing about CD fragrance is that they are not heavy and you won't feel choked up. A lot of times I find that perfumes have too much alcohol and can lead to headaches.

I have been stanning for Carol's Daughter for quite some time now and I have yet to have an issue, only that she needs to bring back the Amaretto Truffle Oil. If you think that people will want to eat you after Ocean, WHEW. I can't even talk about it because it makes me sad to think that I didn't stock up on that oil when I had the chance. But I digress, if you go to the Carol's Daughter website, you will find more products for the women that taught you everything she knows (even if she wasn't there she still taught you something...message!).

With that said, I just want to say thanks to all the women that have made a difference in my life. They have definitely shaped me to be the woman that I am today. Though I am still learning and growing, I am grateful for what I have learned thus far. On that note, thanks so much for reading and make sure you let your moms know that you love and appreciate her. Because you know they are VERY sensitive lol.
